NetSuite - Magento Integration Checklist for Entrepreneurs

If you have just setup your organization and are looking forward to growth, remember that as you grow, it is imperative to integrate data between different business processes. NetSuite helps you manage supply chain, inventory, and customer relationships but if you’re still operating Magento and NetSuite separately, you may not be getting the best out of them - these two are greatly valuable when integrated. Integration makes operations more efficient as it automates the order transactions between the Magento webstore and NetSuite. When Magento and NetSuite are integrated, there is no need for manual intervention in entering data into ERP and there are no hassles over inaccurate orders, inventory count, customer, and item data.
We Inspirria help to successfully intergrate NetSuite-Magento. These are some of the recommendations we have documented:

Merchandising Data Integration:

Be wary while integrating merchandising data as Magento is known to have a few gaps in API – product attributes can be a little taxing to work with in the API and that may not be the only problem. You could also have many, many products that are constantly turning over and that in turn means that there are additions and depletions to the inventory regularly and from multiple channels.

Order Process Integration:

If there are orders on the Magento site, its ideal to have them flow through to NetSuite automatically so that the warehouse can package and ship them out. Magento’s action here does not stop with collecting the orders, Magento also has to ensure customers are notified and they are able to see the updated status of each order.

Customer Integration:

Comprehensive customer data covers all customer information, details like billing/shipping addresses and meta data. Also, don’t forget you have innumerable customer pricing models and groups. There are some companies that even have customer-specific pricing and each type of customer comes with a payment method. Sales strategies also need to be checked as there could be different levels of shipping derived either from order history or some other factor.
As you can see, integrating Magento and NetSuite isn’t a walk in the park. The duration and complexity can seem daunting but remember that the integration can ultimately improve your business. Choosing the right integration approach can make a different too.
Choose an integration approach based on:
Price: Affordability vs ROI
Complexity: Can you deal with the complexity and risks?
Support: How will you find the right vendor to outsource the integration to
Growth Potential: Is your business poised for growth? Or do you want to be conservative?
As a new business, it would be prudent to invest the time to buy the right solution now than fix a wrong one later.
